Dave Sanby – PGA Professional
Dave began his golf journey in Lincoln and qualified as a PGA professional at Market Rasen Golf Club in 1985. He then joined the military and was fortunate enough to play in numerous golf tournaments across Europe. Dave represented the Tri-Services Golf Team for many years and was both the Army matchplay and stroke play champion. He also coached the men’s and ladies’ golf teams and provided individual coaching lessons to many service personnel. More recently, he became the Army golf team manager.
Dave is an experienced and accomplished instructor for all age groups and genders. His coaching principles have evolved over the years, adapting to changes in club technologies and modern swing techniques. He delivers tuition based on a ‘fault or feature’ swing ethos, and implements changes with consideration to age, physical ability, aptitude, and frequency of practice.
Dave is a locally renowned club fitter and a specialist in golf club customisation and repairs. He focuses on bespoke alterations and adjustments to help people achieve their full potential. He provides advice and guidance, utilising all the technical facilities and analysis at his disposal to identify necessary club adjustments. Dave then makes the changes to ensure the clubs suit each golfer’s stature and swing dynamics.
Dave has played county-level golf and has been a county champion. He plays regularly, continues to practice hard, and strives to develop and improve all areas of his game. After nearly 50 years of playing, Dave understands that golf is challenging, but with the right coaching, smart practice, and correct club fitting, he believes good, consistent golf is within everyone’s reach.
